Anna Dorn is an American novelist who lives in Los Angeles. She is the author of several novels about queer life, ambition and self-sabotage, written in a fast, darkly comic voice. Her novel Exalted, about a woman's entanglement with astrology and obsession, was a finalist for the L.A. Times Book Prize. Her 2024 novel Perfume & Pain follows Astrid, a struggling writer in Los Angeles, and works as a satirical homage to the lesbian pulp fiction of the 1950s and 60s. Dorn is also known for her humor, which readers and fellow writers often single out, and she has built a following in contemporary queer fiction.
