Elle Kennedy is a Canadian author of contemporary romance and New Adult fiction. She grew up in Ontario and studied at York University in Toronto, where she earned a degree in history. She began publishing romance in the early 2010s, first with erotic and paranormal stories, then with contemporary novels. Her best-known work is the Off-Campus series, which follows hockey players and their partners at the fictional Briar University, beginning with The Deal in 2015. The books grew out of self-publishing and became New York Times and USA Today bestsellers. She followed it with the Briar U series, set at the same school, which includes The Chase, The Risk, The Play and The Dare. She has also written The Deal's spin-offs and the Bad Boy Next Door style standalone titles, as well as the Kiss and Tell novels. Her books use banter, humor and sports settings, and they helped shape the popularity of college hockey romance among online readers.
