Oliver Burkeman is a British writer and journalist. He worked for The Guardian for many years, writing the column This Column Will Change Your Life from 2006 to 2020, and earlier served as its New York correspondent. His books include Help! How to Become Slightly Happier and Get a Bit More Done, The Antidote: Happiness for People Who Can't Stand Positive Thinking, Four Thousand Weeks: Time Management for Mortals, and Meditations for Mortals. Four Thousand Weeks became an international bestseller. It argues that a human life is short, that nobody can do everything, and that accepting this is more useful than chasing efficiency. His writing mixes psychology, philosophy, and personal experience in a dry, plain voice. He also writes the newsletter The Imperfectionist. Burkeman is one of the best known voices in the critique of modern productivity culture.
